FACT-Finder Cache
Enable caching to minimise search times and system load by buffering search results. Within the System menu, the Cache page provides information on cache usage and allows you to empty the cache manually, if necessary.
If the cache is not emptied during the course of the day by an import, by manually triggering the Empty Cache function or by the configured time to live of single cache entries, it is automatically emptied by FACT-Finder between 0:00 and 6:00 at night.
For some configuration changes, manual clearing of the cache is necessary if you want them to take effect immediately.
After changing some configuration settings it is necessary to empty the cache automatically for the changes to become effective immediately. FACT-Finder will notify you about this via the small green circle at the top left.
Click on it to display a dialogue, prompting you to start emptying the cache.
Regardless of whether the entire cache is emptied, each cache entry has its own lifetime until it is deleted. There are 2 strategies for managing the lifetime.
time-to-live
This is the default strategy. Each entry has a fixed lifetime (default= 15 minutes) until it is deleted.
time-to-idle
With this strategy the lifetime of a cache entry is renewed with every call. Only when an entry has not been called for the set duration, it is deleted.
Using delta updates has no effect on the lifetime of existing cache entries.
Thus, using a time-to-live strategy of 3 minutes, all requests would return the new information no later than 3 minutes after sending the delta update.
