Ranking
You can use ranking rules to change the sequence in which search results are presented. This procedure determines the order in which the results are sorted. It is a simple way of e.g. setting business rules that govern a sales ranking order.
You can set any number of rules for a field (1).
The rules are combined into groups (2).
Ranking rules can be switched on or off (3) and can also be used in a timed manner (4). This way you can reduce the similarity reduction for sale articles during sale periods, or even favour them over regular products.
An example: you wish to start a sale in a week's time, so you set the rule in advance. It will then activate on schedule. Similarly, you can activate or deactivate a rule by clicking on the green or red icons. This way you can “preserve” rules for various situations such as holiday or seasonal promotions, even if you do not want to use them at the moment
Field names are not case-sensitive.
If several rules in one group could apply at the same time, only the first matching rule in the group is applied. Rules from different groups are cumulative, however.
The order in which they are defined is used to determine which rule is applied - the general principle is “first come, first served”. The rankings within a group may also be split over multiple fields. If you wish to change the order, you can rearrange the rules via drag & drop.
